Mr. de Vrij has extensive investment experience with commodity futures contracts and commodity futures options, currency trading, and securities trading. He is the developer of numerous quantitative trading models, which cover a wide span of global markets across multiple timeframes, and utilize non-linear analysis techniques to generate active trading signals.Mr. de Vrij is responsible for the investment management and trading of a portion of SciVest client capital, utilizing an array of Managed Futures, Options and FOREX trading strategies. Additionally, Mr. de Vrij is actively involved in the marketing and sales of funds and products advised by SciVest, with an emphasis on the recently launched SciVest Global Multiple Strategy Fund. Prior to joining SciVest, Mr. de Vrij served as President and Portfolio Manager of Opera Capital Management Inc., a Toronto based Commodity Trading Manager. He has over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, and as a trader and an analyst, he has been active in the global futures and derivatives markets for over 13 years. Prior to founding OCMI, Mr. de Vrij was a Senior Trader and Trading Floor Manager at one of Canada’s largest active-trading firms; an acknowledged pioneer in the Canadian industry. He is a highly accomplished Technical Analyst, and an acknowledged expert in the fields of trader education, trading system development, portfolio risk management and Electronic Direct Access Trading (EDAT), and is a member of The Canadian Society of Technical Analysts, and MENSA Canada.
